Increased testing capability, for free
Capability of the micro Vickers tester has been increased to include the option to perform Knoop tests, and the instruments can be upgraded by adding a CCD camera and Cams software
Indentec has extended the testing specification of its ZHV30 and ZHV1/2 Vickers hardness testers to include additional scales In the case of the new ZHV30 combined micro and macro Vickers tester, this includes the option to test using both Knoop and Brinell methods, making it what the company says is the most flexible tester of its type on the market

Bullet points for hardness testing
No less than nineteen different specimens can be supported for hardness testing by a single fixture
The capability of the ZHV1/2 Micro Vickers tester has been increased to include the option to perform Knoop tests.
The two instruments can be upgraded to remove operator influence during the indentation measurement process by adding a CCD camera and Cams (Computer assisted measurement system) software.
This provides automatic measurement and so reduces the uncertainty to a minimum.
Gauge R and R figures of less than 8% can be achieved irrespective of operator competence.
The addition of a motorised X-Y table and auto focus options are possible, thus further increasing the machines automation, flexibility and significantly reducing test time.
As Indentec is a Ukas accredited ISO 17025 hardness calibration laboratory, certificates of conformity to the appropriate International Brinell (ISO 6506 and ASTM E10) and the Knoop (ISO 4545) standards can be supplied.
Ukas accredited test blocks and diamond and ball indenters are available from Indentec for all existing hardness testing machines and are supplied with appropriate Ukas accredited traceable calibration certification.
