Paul Davie, ex-European general manager and senior director consultancy services for Accelrys, takes key position at software firm

InforSense, a provider of discovery informatics platforms, has appointed Paul Davie to the position of president and chief operating officer Before joining InforSense, Davie was European general manager and senior director consultancy services for Accelrys

He will be responsible for InforSense's overall business operations, focusing particularly on marketing, sales, and service.

"InforSense's success lies in large part on our investment in people," said Yike Guo, CEO of InforSense.

"Paul brings extensive international commercial experience in the life science industry, gained in both large companies and entrepreneurial ventures.

This, combined with his leadership skills, makes him a fitting President and COO to lead InforSense's expansion in providing world-class discovery software to the life science market." Davie has 18 years commercial experience in discovery informatics in a wide range of senior roles.

He spent eight years at Chemical Design before going on to join Oxford Molecular in 1992, where he became European sales director.

He was responsible for sales, customer support and consultancy services and was part of the management team that successfully took the company through an IPO in 1994.

Following OML's acquisition by Pharmacopeia, he was made European general manager of its merged software division, Accelrys.

He is a chemistry graduate from Oxford University and an MBA from the Open University Business School.
