"A discovery project in life science research utilises many data resources across various subjects, many scientists across different disciplines, as well as many stages across a dynamically changing process", says Paul Davie, president and COO of InforSense.
"KDE aims to give scientists total control of all activities in any collaborative and integrative discovery project." The software is being used for national research projects in several countries.
Interdisciplinary scientists conduct these investigations using different kinds of experiment.
KDE provides a single platform for managing the entire life cycle of a discovery project, across the internet or an enterprise intranet.
"This software makes all the difference between winning and losing, with this kind of integrative discovery", says James Scott of Hammersmith Hospital, London.
KDE is also being used by large pharmaceutical companies, in discovery projects involving multiple databases on a variety of subjects.
Using KDE, gene expression profiling can be combined with metabolite expression data, to derive important biomarkers in target validation and toxicology studies; high-throughput screening (HTS) can be combined with gene and protein expression analysis, to relate chemical properties of compounds with their biological effects.
KDE Version 1.7 has enhanced its novel, dynamic mechanism for information integration.
The analytical capability has also been significantly increased to support large-scale data processing.
The product is being shipped to InforSense customers in the pharmaceutical, biotech and government sectors across Europe, Japan and North America, including AstraZeneca, metaGen, Gene Logic, The Montreal General Hospital, and Cancer Research, UK.
