Biogen Idec will use both InforSense KDE and InforSense's integrated TextSense text mining technology to build and deploy tailored decision-support software applications

InforSense reports that Biogen Idec, a biotechnology company with products and capabilities in oncology, neurology and immunology, has selected InforSense KDE to enable its information scientists to deliver timely information to internal decision-makers.

Biogen Idec will use both InforSense KDE and InforSense's integrated TextSense text mining technology to build and deploy tailored decision-support software applications.

"InforSense's open integrative analytics will allow Biogen Idec's analysts to answer complex questions by combining appropriate data sources - biology, chemistry and text, software tools and business rules - as they work," said Joseph Donahue, chief business officer, InforSense.

"Our horizontal informatics platform enables innovative information-driven life science research from discovery to the clinic, and we look forward to further developing our close collaboration with Biogen Idec.".
