An alternative to antibody production in
mice

Hollow fibre in-vitro cell cultivation system offers production of monoclonal antibodies and expression of cell products over a period of months, avoiding the need for laboratory animals

The Tecnomouse from Integra Biosciences is a hollow fibre in-vitro cell cultivation system offering optimised production of monoclonal antibodies and expression of cell products over a period of months avoiding the need for laboratory animals Modular in design, the Tecnomouse provides separation of cultivation and nutrient/oxygenation chambers via hollow fibres in combination with membranes through which gases can diffuse

This novel arrangement means that medium can be exchanged without influencing the function or growth of the cells and gases.

Consequently, traditional cell growth limitations brought about by a lack of nutrients or the accumulation of metabolic waste can be overcome just as easily as oxygen deficiency.

Such optimised conditions promote significant cell growth and lead to drastically increased cell densities even to the extent of three-dimensional cell growth.

This novel perfusion technology enables higher cell concentrations within the cultivation chamber, highly concentrated cell products to be obtained and physiologically optimised cell cultivation conditions to be maintained over a period of months.

With the Tecnomouse yields of up to 500mg of monoclonal antibody per month are possible.

Further scale-up cultivation benefits are possible as the same Tecnomouse unit may accommadate up to five different cell lines at the same time.

The Integra Bioscience Tecnomouse system truly is an alternative to monoclonal antibody production in mice.

Compared to traditional production technologies the Tecnomouse significantly reduces consumption of serum and medium, minimises purification costs and reduces the time taken to harvest high concentrations of cells or antibodies.

The transparent design of the system enables visual control and microscopic observation of the growth process. Request a free brochure from Integra Biosciences ...
