Qemscan sale adds to oil and gas success
Intellection's global diversification into the oil and gas sector has been consolidated, with the recent purchase of a Qemscan automated mineral analysis solution by Fugro Robertson
UK-based FRL is one of the largest and most highly regarded international geoscience service providers in the upstream oil and gas sector While Intellection already provides Qemscan based commercial laboratory services to oil and gas companies, the FRL order represents the first use of the Qemscan technology by an established oil and gas technical services organisation for the development of its own extended services

Intellection CEO Calvin Treacy said: "Following so closely on the success of our own commercial Qemscan analytical services in this sector, this purchase is a fantastic endorsement of the Qemscan technology for oil and gas applications".
""FRL has an outstanding reputation for the quality of its services and technical research capabilities, and we are extremely proud they have chosen Qemscan to add to the depth of their Stratigraphic Toolbox"".
"The choice follows extensive assessment of Qemscan by FRL personnel who visited Intellection's operations in Brisbane, Australia to see it in action, meet the developers of the technology, and personally conduct test analyses to appraise the technology's capabilities and suitability".
"FRL director Guy Oliver said: "We have been watching the growth of Intellection and rapid evolution of Qemscan for some years now".
""Qemscan has now grown into a unique, mature analytical technology that we believe significantly extends the services we can offer our customers".
""The ability of Qemscan to rapidly measure, quantify and report the mineralogy and thence lithotyping of large numbers of samples provides an important ability to fill in the information gaps where wireline or geophysical data is either missing, inconclusive or at best qualitative".
""Qemscan digital information will help our customers better understand and overcome the challenges they may face on a given project".
FRL will locate the Qemscan at the organisation's north Wales headquarters, where it will be used on commercial projects and in internal research and development of new capabilities in the analysis of cores, plugs and cuttings.
