International Sorbent Technology has published a new technical note on the use of 96-well technology in solid phase extraction

New approaches to the quantitation of drugs and metabolites in biological fluids (eg fast run-time LC-MS) have increased the need for high throughput methodologies to avoid the traditional laboratory bottleneck of sample preparation Solid phase extraction in a 96-well plate format such as Isolute-96 or Isolute Array is a solution to this problem

International Sorbent Technology (IST) has produced a technical note that addresses solid phase extraction in the 96-well plate format.

Many aspects of the technique are covered, including: SPE method development in 96-well format, transfer of methods from conventional columns, and optimisation of plate handling strategies.

The information in the note is based on practical experience, and aims to aid the scientist in development and use of robust, reliable SPE methods in the 96-well plate format.
