Ionics Instruments, recently acquired by General Electric, has been renamed GE Analytical Instruments.

The company is now part of GE Infrastructure, Water and Process Technologies.

GE completed the Ionics acquisition on 22 February 2005.

As part of the rapidly-growing water and process technologies business within GE Infrastructure, GE Analytical Instruments will continue to develop innovative products and services to meet the most pressing analytical measurement needs of its customers, and will provide a new area of growth for GE, says the company.

GE Analytical Instruments manufactures three brands of analytical instruments: Sievers, Ionics, and Leakwise.

These instruments have a wide range of applications, including pharmaceutical, semiconductor, municipal water, petrochemical, power generation, environmental, and medical research.
