Sterilising wipes are 'ideal' for laboratories
Based on superoxidised water produced by electro-chemical process, these wipes give none of the health issues or long contact times involved with alcohol-based alternatives
Decontamination specialist Lancer has introduced a new high-level disinfectant/sterilising wipe, Lancer Suprox.
Not only will it help combat the frontline healthcare issues of MRSA and hospital acquired infection generally, says Lancer, but it is ideal for disinfecting surfaces in laboratories where micro-organisms and infection are a potential problem.
Lancer Suprox wipes can kill 99.9% of all organisms (spores will need a little longer) within a few seconds contact time and yet are completely harmless to the user and the environment.
Unlike many other wipes which are only bactericidal, Suprox are also virucidal, fungicidal and, importantly, sporicidal.
Based on superoxidised water produced by electro-chemical process, there is none of the health issues or long contact times involved with alcohol-based alternatives; nor do Suprox wipes require activation.
The thick impregnated wipes are supplied in tubs of 35.
They are tough, ready to use and easily dispensed.
No additional pre-clean or rinse wipes are needed - Lancer Suprox are 3-in-1 wipes which do the lot, says the company.
Not only is it used in hospitals to disinfect the external surfaces of endoscopes and ENT items, as well as any hard surfaces in wards or surgical units, but the wipes are said to be ideal for benches, shelves, trolleys, etc in clinical or research laboratories where a contamination-free environment is critical.
In addition to the wipes, Lancer Suprox will shortly be available in two other useful forms.
As a liquid for use in solution for general disinfection by immersion, especially for equipment which is heat sensitive.
As a hand-held spray for regular cleaning of any hard surface where highly effective disinfection is required.
The increased focus on infection control means there are many products currently competing in this market.
Lancer is confident that Suprox is the most effective and safest and that choosing a name you can trust is vital.
