Major new cancer research initiative
opens in UK
Lancer 1400 series lab glassware washers and dryers have been installed at the new Cancer Research UK Cambridge Research Institute opened by Queen Elizabeth this month.
The CRI aims to bring the scientific strengths of Cambridge to bear on practical questions of cancer diagnosis, treatment and prevention and will be the focus for the application of high quality research under one umbrella Directly funded by Cancer Research UK and led by Professors Bruce Ponder and Fiona Watt, the new institute has several groups each investigating different research aspects and all with the fundamental principle of linking the laboratory to the clinic thereby hastening the development of new treatments to benefit cancer patients
