Capsule filling machine works well for Galenica
Isopak supplied a Dott Bonapace In-Cap capsule filling machine, with powder and pellet feeders and an associated BD3000 capsule banding machine, to Swedish contract research organisation Galenica
The BD3000 has an output of 3000 capsules per hour, and like all Dott Bonapace equipment, it is made to the highest industry standards, says Isopak.
It is both compact and mobile, making it an ideal machine to use alongside other equipment such as the In-Cap bench top automatic capsule-filling machine.
The BD3000 joins the two portions of the filled capsule together by placing the body and cap of the capsule in a sealing station, where a rotating roller applies the specially formulated sealing solution.
Accuracy is high on the list of the machine's key features.
The sealant is applied to the rotating capsule in exactly the right location at the junction of the body and the cap ensuring a perfectly tight seal.
And the accuracy of the seal is helped further by some capillary action which assists the absorption of the sealing solution.
The unit also contains a drying station, complete with 240 cavities to hold the sealed capsules vertically while they dry before they are automatically ejected.
An integral control panel shows the temperature of the sealing solution and features a regulating device to control the capsule rotation, which will vary for different size capsules, during the sealing operation.
All operations of the BD3000 are PLC controlled and the machine is equipped with all the features necessary for ease of use and complete operator safety - including safety guards, electromechanical overload devices and an emergency stop safety button.
This is the latest development from Italian based Dott Bonapace, and is available exclusively through Isopak in the UK.
