The Noran System Six from Thermo Scientific, now available in the UK from ISS, includes a set of tools exclusively designed for spectral imaging data
The AFM-990 precision motorised microtome is recommended for the materials scientist.
It has been designed for users of all microscopy techniques: optical, scanning electron and scanning probe systems.
It enables users to prepare flat sample surfaces with minimal user interaction.
A feed totaliser to record either the size of feed in microns or the number of slices to be cut is set up using a separate controller for hands-off operation.
The motorised knife stage provides 28mm of travel and has the option to add a cryo-attachment to permit sectioning from room temperature down to -180C.
