Ideally suited to provide non-destructive hardness testing for a variety of microindentation and Vickers applications, such as heat-treating and case depth analysis

Instron, a leading provider of testing equipment designed to evaluate mechanical properties of materials and components, introduces its Wilson Instruments Tukon 2100 microindentation /Vickers tester The Tukon is ideally suited to provide non-destructive hardness testing for a variety of microindentation and Vickers applications, such as heat-treating and case depth analysis

Instron's Tukon is designed with a closed-loop control for easier operation and more accurate hardness readings and testing results.

Instron replaces conventional deadweights with its unique closed-loop control system, making the series 2100 a more stable and repeatable microindentation/Vickers tester.

This system places a load cell between the indenter and the drive mechanism to form an error-free, precision test axis that eliminates test result errors caused by friction.

The use of load cells versus deadweights ensures against force errors resulting over time from friction and wear.

Resistance sensing circuitry eliminates accidental load cell and indenter damage.

The series 2100 can handle load ranges from 50 grams to 30 kilograms.

Instron's exclusive automatic turret design gives added testing flexibility and increased power to the Tukon.

This special design provides five positions allowing for two load cell indenter combinations and three measuring objectives.

In addition, Tukon increases productivity and lowers operator fatigue with dedicated keys for repetitive functions such as exclude test, clear stats, auto print and print report.

In addition, Instron provides a full two-year warranty on the Tukon.
