New emphasis for Ukiva seminars at Photonex
The regular series of free technical seminars offered by Ukiva during the Photonex exhibition (Stoneleigh Park, Coventry, UK, 18-19 October 2006) will have a slightly different emphasis this year
Photon02 features the Applied Optics and Optoelectronics Conference of the Applied Optics Division of The Institute of Physics, as well as the Industrial Technology Conference and the Photonex 2002 trade exhibition.
The theme of UKIVA's seminars, which will be held on Wednesday 4 September, is that machine vision is now an established technology that no longer needs to 'borrow' components developed for other applications.
An array of international speakers from the UK, Belgium, Denmark, and the USA will cover a variety of topics such as the development of specialised camera technology for machine vision.
Other subjects to be covered will include camera interfacing technology, and illumination systems and lenses developed for especially for machine vision applications.
One day tickets for the conference, including the UKIVA seminars are priced £120 +VAT for members of UKCPO's affiliated organisations.
UKIVA has recently been accepted as a member organisation, joining the existing members: Association of Industrial Laser Users, Scottish Optoelectronics Association, Welsh Optoelectronics Forum, IoP Quantum Electronics Group, IoP Optical Group, IEE Professional Photonics Network, Fibreoptic Industry Association and IoP Applied Optics Division.
One day tickets for non members are priced £155 + VAT.
Tickets will be available on-line from the Photon02 website, http://physics.iop.org/IOP/photon02 where details of the Industrial Technology Conference programme can also be found.
There will also be an opportunity to see equipment from many UKIVA members at the Photonex 2002 exhibition, which will be held on 3-4 September 2002.
Admission to Photonex 2002 is free of charge.
