Metrohm analysers carry out thermal digestion

Metrohm offers a range of analysers for chemical oxygen demand (COD) using either the classical method with digestion of two hours or Quick COD-O with heated furnace (1200C) at 5min.

The digester/cuvette module allows the analyser to carry out the thermal digestion for the prescribed period without contact with the colorimetric measuring cell.

Upon completion of the digestion period the initial colour of the digested sample is measured to prevent background sample colour interfering with the accuracy of the analysis.

After the addition of dichromate solution a second colour measurement is made to provide the true Chemical Oxygen Demand value.

Quick COD-O Revolutionary is the simultaneous measurement of two to four important parameters for controlling of wastewater treatment: total nitrogen and total phosphorous, total organic carbon and chemical oxygen demand.

The nitrogen, TOC and COD are detected after high-temperature combustion with a choice of detectors and sensor.
