New high resolution hardware and quantification software for glow discharge spectrometry

Continuing the series of glow discharge-optical emission spectrometry instruments initiated with the GD-Profiler that was nominated for the 2002 Pittcon Editors' award, Jobin Yvon introduces the GD-Profiler HR and Quantum IQ software.

This GD-Profiler HR is dedicated to the surface, depth profile and bulk analysis of almost any material or coating - conductive or non-conductive.

It can simultaneously analyse up to 64 elements including the gasses H, O, N and Cl.

It features the highest optical resolution available with a 1m polychromator and an optional 1m monochromator, making it the instrument of choice for complex matrices such as Zr, W, U, or demanding research.

Quantum IQ software offers unique features for glow discharge spectrometry.

Among these is the patented 3D display of the depth profile results, and the capability to use within the same calibration, bulk and layered samples, conductive or non-conductive.

This greatly expands the range and availability of reference materials for quantification.

The software also includes new modes of surface quantification and a customised report generator, the Quantum Tabler.
