Economical automatic colorimeter

A John Morris Scientific product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Apr 1, 2003

Automatically measures colour and displays the results directly according to the traditional grading scales adopted as industry standards

John Morris Scientific presents Lovibond's economical PFX195 colorimeter for optically clear samples.

It meets the demand for consistent and reliable colour data; removes all subjectivity involved in colour grading; and supplies unbiased readings that are unaffected by the user or environment.

The PFX195 automatically measures colour, and displays the results directly according to the traditional grading scales adopted as industry standards, or in terms of internationally recognised CIE values and spectral data.

Models available are industry focused, each including the principal colour scales used in the relevant sectors.

This colorimeter measures colour in samples such as liquid chemicals and industrial oils, petroleum oils and fuels, dark oils and fats, beers, pharmaceutical solutions, sugar solutions, water and waste waters, and transparent samples.

The PFX195 also allows users to build a customised scale for product types that are not compatible with standard colour scales.

The PFX195 off-hue status is a useful facility that reveals whether the sample colour is characteristic of the selected scale.

For regular conformance checking, each PFX195 is provided with a calibrated glass filter of known colour value.

Sets of conformance filters and certified colour reference solutions are also available for routine calibration and verification of test data.

With excellent calibration stability and password protection, it is suited to laboratory or production environments.

The PFX 195 supports the migration of quality control to the manufacturing area, making it a cost-effective option for dedicated production testing.
