Underwear manufacturer required tight control of humidity in its laboratories to adhere to the strict testing conditions demanded by its clients
A Neptronic SKE humidifier from JS Humidifiers is maintaining the humidity in the testing laboratories of leading underwear manufacturer Triumph International.
Triumph designs a wide range of women's underwear at its plant in Swindon, UK, and needed to control the humidity in its laboratories to adhere to the strict testing conditions demanded by its clients.
Triumph required very close control of humidity and had to maintain the level at 67%rH (relative humidity) +/-2%rH.
The Neptronic SKE was selected as the unit is capable of controlling humidity to +/-1%rH and has very low maintenance requirements.
Andy McDowall, site services engineer at Triumph, commented: "We needed close control of the humidity in our laboratories for stretch and grading tests we undertake for a range of underwear Triumph International supplies to Marks and Spencer.
"The Neptronic SKE humidifier has performed very well to date and doesn't require as much maintenance as the previous model we had installed".
The Neptronic SKE is a resistive steam humidifier, which unlike electrode boiler humidifiers, does not require replacement cylinders.
It is an extremely compact model, capable of delivering up to 80kg of steam from a single unit, and is the only steam humidifier in the UK to come with a two-year warranty covering all parts, including elements.
Triumph International is one of the largest garment producers in the world and employs over 37,000 people with a global turnover in excess of £1billion.
The Swindon site has been the UK headquarters of Triumph since 1964 and now acts as a hub for product design, sales, marketing and warehousing for the UK and Ireland.
The Neptronic unit was installed by Swindon-based air conditioning and refrigeration contractor Just Chilling, along with a reverse osmosis system to reduce mineral build-up within the boiling chamber to an absolute minimum.
