Hydrogen generator for GC-FID and GC
carrier gas
Domnick Hunter Scientific has launched a new range of high purity, low maintenance laboratory hydrogen generators now available from Kinesis
The new range of generators, the 20H-MD, 40H-MD and 60H-MD have been developed specifically for the growing hydrogen carrier gas market The 'MD' in the product name stands for MicroDry

Bar coded vials prevent mixups
With a variety of storage systems available, Kinesis bar coded vials keep classification and analysis administration to a minimum, preventing sample mix-ups.
The name is a reflection on both the purity of the hydrogen gas produced with respect to water - one part per million or one millionth denoted by the u(micro) pre-script in scientific terminology - and the technology employed within the generator - a miniaturised (micro) pressure swing adsorption dryer.
The new generators incorporate a number of innovative design improvements to increase system safety, reliability and performance.
The most significant of these is the replacement of the single-pass, consumable desiccant cartridge with a miniaturized, fully regenerative pressure swing adsorption dryer.
This innovation both increases the purity of hydrogen produced from 99.999% to 99.9999% and massively reduces the maintenance requirements of the generator removing the need to periodically replace the desiccant cartridge.
