Roadyn system now available for twin tyres

A Kistler Instruments product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Feb 2, 2006

The RoaDyn system from Kistler is widely used for real time vehicle suspension data acquisition both on the test track and on public roads but, until now has been suitable only for single tyre wheels

The new version, the RoaDyn S650, has been developed specifically to provide the same level of sophistication for twin tyre wheels on vans and light trucks up to 5tonnes laden weight.

The modular design allows the six-component measuring wheel to be easily adapted to suit a wide range of configurations.

Standard size wheels from 16 to 18 inches with stud hole pitch diameter up to 205mm.

Non-contact, wireless telemetry, using a built-in angle encoder and strain gauge load cells, transmits measured data to data acquisition equipment on the vehicle under test.

The RoaDyn S650 is splash-water resistant and was subjected to FEM analysis to optimise weight and rigidity to ensure a long life under practical test conditions.
