Developed to meet the demands of production process monitoring systems for accurate measurement of very low compression and tensile forces in practical industrial applications.

The new Type 9217A force sensor from Kistler has been developed to meet the demands of production process monitoring systems for accurate measurement of very low compression and tensile forces in practical industrial applications The ultra sensitive Kistler PiezoStar sensor element provides a measuring range of +/-500Newton with sensitivity as low as a few millinewtons and is supplied with calibrated measuring ranges of 100% and 10%

The rigid construction of the sensor body ensures resistance to lateral forces and bending moments to minimize interference effects making the new sensor equally suitable for use in both laboratory and production environments.

Mounting is by an M10 external thread with a front-end hole tapped M3 to provide simple and flexible adaptation for testing switches, push buttons, plugs, springs, etc, and for highly sensitive force measurement in research and development applications.
