Gold medal at Salud para Todos 2005, the Cuban international trade show concentrating on medical and laboratory technology

The multi-wavelength spectrophotometer Smartline UV detector 2600 from Knauer has been awarded with a gold medal at Salud para Todos 2005, the Cuban international trade show concentrating on medical and laboratory technology This is the second accolade for the detector in two months

As recently as in March of this year it won a first prize in the chemical analysis category at Eurolab 2005 in Warsaw, Poland.

This detector with the modest name is no ordinary UV detector, says Knauer It is based on fast diode array technology with practically no moving parts, making it extremely reliable and rugged by design.

It features a wavelength range from 190 to 500nm and can measure at up to four channels simultaneously.

Its high wavelength scanning speed allows for ten spectral scans per second.

The wavelength accuracy is better than 1nm and with a noise level below 1 E-05AU, it is clearly among the best diode array detectors on the market, says the company.

The wavelength accuracy is verified automatically via an internal holmium oxide filter.

All functions of the detector can be controlled manually from the front panel or by software via the RS-232 interface.

Signal output is accomplished by either using RS-232 or by 4x +/-1V analogue connection, the latter enabling the detector to be used in any other third-party HPLC system.

With the level and event outputs, it is even possible to set up software-independent solvent recycling by just adding a three-port solenoid valve.

GLP report features such as total working hours and number of lamp ignitions are also included.
