LimsLink 4.0 utilises either Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server for data storage, thus providing improved support for large enterprise implementations and offering users more powerful security options

Labtronics has announced the release of LimsLink 4.0, the latest version of its laboratory instrument integration system LimsLink helps laboratories eliminate manual data entry by electronically transferring valuable instrument data to their management systems, such as laboratory information management systems (Lims)

This ensures the accuracy and security of the data and helps companies comply with regulatory guidelines such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11.

LimsLink 4.0 was developed in response to the increasing number of large regulated companies utilising LimsLink for their interfacing requirements.

There is a growing need to implement LimsLink to a large number of users in different geographical locations while still maintaining compliance with data integrity regulations such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11.

As a result LimsLink 4.0 has added many new and enhanced features that directly address these issues.

LimsLink 4.0 enhancements allow customers to improve the security of their data and streamline set up and support of security configurations resulting in the most secure environment possible for their valuable laboratory data.

LimsLink 4.0 also provides features that reduce network traffic and improve client to server ratio, allowing customers to deploy LimsLink to more people wherever they are in the world without having a major impact on their existing IT infrastructure.

"Our latest release of LimsLink is a direct result of our on-going communications with our customers," said Robert Pavlis, president of Labtronics.

"More and more of our customers are large companies in regulated industries.

"Ensuring data integrity and complying with regulatory guidelines is vital to these companies.

"LimsLink has always provided secure and compliant data transfer and now our latest version makes LimsLink even more secure and makes it easier to comply with regulations".

Labtronics says LimsLink is the most widely used instrument integration system available.

In use at thousands of customers sites in a variety of industries including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, oil and gas, food and beverage and environmental, LimsLink maximises their investment in Lims technology by ensuring that laboratory test results are transferred in real-time from their instruments to their Lims accurately and efficiently, it says.

LimsLink eliminates the need for laboratory staff to manually transcribe instrument data results to their Lims, thus eliminating errors, improving data integrity and security and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.

LimsLink can connect virtually any laboratory instrument - whether users need to integrate simple instruments, such as balances and pH meters, or more complex instruments, such as inductively-coupled plasma (ICP) and chromatography data systems (CDS) - to any Lims.
