The answer, according to Labcaire, is an alcohol-free disinfectant wipe that is equally effective on skin and hard surfaces.
Autowipes are pre-impregnated with a 5% solution of virucidal disinfectant to ensure rapid, non-selective activity against bacteria, fungi, viruses and mycobacteria.
As a broad-spectrum cleaning agent Autowipes are said to be perfect for most laboratory surfaces, including sensitive instruments, safety cabinets, incubators, laboratory benches, shelving, stools and trolleys.
They are also aldehyde-, chlorine-, and phenol- free and may be used safely on skin.
The Autowipe formulation has been rigorously tested by the PHLS and HIRL (Hospital Infection Research laboratory) and complies with various international standards, including BS6471, BS6905, EN1276 and NFT 72-231.
Autowipes are effective against hepatitis B, HIV, tuberculosis, MRSA, Pseudomonas aeruginosa in blood, Vancomycin-resistant bactieria, Strep facium, and Leptospira.
Only 20% of laboratory infections follow known accidents, such as broken glass or needle sticks.
Autowipes allows laboratory professionals to maintain strict hygiene procedures without irritating their skin and overcomes one of the major barriers to cross-contamination control in the workplace.
Autowipes is supplied in a drum of 200individual wipes, each measuring 220mmx200mm.
