Water activity meter redefines
turnaround times
Labcell's new mid-range AquaLab Lite water activity meter is up to 12 times faster than comparable instruments, returning results in five minutes compared to the 15-60 minutes normally expected
A laboratory bench unit, it is designed to sit between the performance level of the company's AquaLab Series 3 meters and the pocket-sized Pawkit AquaLab Lite is designed for use among food scientists, research and development laboratories, quality assurance departments and developers of packaging in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, soap and detergent and similar industries

Water activity meter boosts food science course
One student project for which the AquaLab has been utilised involved measuring the water activity of fruit cake to enable the flour grade and cooking time/temperature to be optimised
With a range of 0 to 1.000aw, a resolution of +/-0.001aw and an accuracy of +/-0.015aw, the AquaLab Lite meets the needs of most potential industrial users, who typically work within the 0.500 to 0.800aw range.
Its operating envelope is from 5 to 43C and humidities from 20 to 85%, solids, liquids and powders can all be analysed.
The AquaLab Lite uses a dielectric humidity sensor and an infrared temperature sensor to give stable, reliable, repeatable readings based on the chilled mirror principle.
A user-friendly menu-based, three-button interface, makes the AquaLab Lite extremely easy to calibrate and use.
Cleaning is very quick and easy, so the turnaround time between samples is minimal.
It is mains powered and compact at only 152x178mm.
