Barnard is an expert in FTIR techniques and has extensive experience in spectrometer sales, having previously worked for Nicolet and Varian.
LAT sales and marketing director Vince Phelan commented: "The addition of the Digilab FTIR products further strengthens our portfolio of molecular spectroscopy products and positions us as one of the fastest growing specialists in atomic and molecular spectroscopy sales in the UK.
"Gareth Barnard brings a wealth of experience to the company and will be a significant asset to us.
"However we believe in providing our customers with full back-up.
"We are in a unique position to offer technical and applications advice, service and training as well as supplying the instrumentation itself."
