Penetrometer looks versatile

The PNR 21 is a testing machine for texture and consistency examinations, covering load and tensile forces up to 100N

Penetration is the resistance which a material under specified test conditions provides against being pierced by a specifically shaped penetrator Besides the configuration of the penetrator, factors such as temperature, time and load are of equal importance

Penetration serves as a measure of consistency (hardness, softness, resistance to handling and solvent attack) to determine the plasticity of a wide range of materials.

The PNR 10 is a digitally indicating instrument comprising a large milled penetrometer platform with levelling screws and a control panel in the form of a splash water protected membrane keyboard, with LED display, pentrometer head with hand wheels for coarse and fine adjustment, low voltage illuminator with observation lens on a flexible arm.

The PNR 21 is a testing machine for texture and consistency examinations, covering load and tensile forces up to 100N, displacement of 100mm, and a travelling speed of 8mm/s.

The PNR 21 has RS232 interfaces for printer and PC connection, splash water protected membrane control panel with LCD and is supplied with control and programming PNRCon software.

PNRCon is used to record measured values, display in graphic form and to save results and test programs.

More sophisticated PNRPro software offers additional features like simultaneous display of stored master curves and comparison of actual test curve, statistical analysis and storage of test information in a database form for ready comparison.

A 20 page brochure details a wide variety of sample containers, plungers and penetrators which have proven practical based on experience or which are required by standard test methods or relevant measuring regulations for specific applications.

Penetrometers are widely used in R+D and quality assurance across a wide variety of industries including the petroleum sector, food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

The PNR 10 however can be used as a consistency check for any semi solid material without limits. Request a free brochure from Labtex ...
