Range of chromogenic media provides a more specific identification of the target organism which in turn can reduce or eliminate the need for subculture and confirmatory tests
Extensive international validation studies have confirmed the new product to be both sensitive and specific - with a 34% increase in positive isolations over traditional media.
Chromogenic media utilises state-of-the-art detection and identification systems.
Harlequin Listeria incorporates a novel chromogen that results in the formation of an intense pigment that is retained within the colonies.
L monocytogenes is distinguished from other listeria species by the development of a precipitate halo around the colonies.
Presumptive identification is straightforward, reducing the need for subculture and confirmatory testing.
