Image-enabling platform maintains adherent cells

A Labtech International product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Feb 12, 2009

The SmartSlide 50 imaging-enabling platform maintains adherent cells for long durations on Wafergen's Smartslide six-well microtiter plates without having to take a plate in and out of an incubator.

Temperature and gas are controlled by the Smartslide 50 System control unit, providing complete walk-away automation.

The Smartslide 50 allows scientists to grow their cells and observe differentiation, cytotoxicity, apoptosis, chemotaxis, and much more, under physiological conditions.

It has programmable microprocessor-controlled temperature and gas regulation; independent heating of base and lid at different temperatures, which eliminates condensation during imaging; an auxiliary heater for microscope objective that prevents heat-sink problems; an additional auxiliary heater for humidifier bottle; and a disposable multiple well format; quick set-up, compact design (20 x 20 x 23cm) and installs in less just a few minutes.

The Smartslide 50 is compatible with inverted microscopes and live cell confocal techniques.
