A revolution in 3D viewing
Display system offers high resolution and full brightness and a tracking method that allows the user to move naturally while working without loosing the 3-D effect
Leica Microsystems ASD 3D display system enables the user to see stereoscopic images in real time on a computer screen You'll experience the specimen with perspective, depth and color reproduction just like looking through the eyepieces of a stereomicroscope

The ASD system is a fatigue free observation solution for training of microscopes techniques or remote inspection.
The principle of the 3D monitor is based on providing two different views to each eye by use of a movable prism mask in front of a TFT (thin film transistor) panel.
Brightness is not absorbed by this method of stereo visualisation and no shutter, glasses, or other accessories are needed to get a true 3D impression.
This special optical characteristic provides brilliant visualisation with full luminance to the viewer.
To see the 3D effect the eyes of a user must be in a suitable region in front of the 3D monitor.
The eyes are tracked by a head-tracking system that adjusts the prism mask if the user moves.
The ability of the human eye to see spatially has always been a desire when working with virtual scenes at the computer.
But until now the world remained flat.
Despite the current 3D reconstruction software solutions it was not possible to see objects in anything but 2D.
The Leica Microsystems ASD state of the art auto stereoscopic system offers you now unique features.
Especially ergonomic and real 3D viewing without using goggles, shutters or glasses.
The ASD systems offers high resolution and full brightness and a tracking system that allows the user to move naturally while working without loosing the 3D effect.
The real time 3D viewing and 3D capturing of stereomicroscope specimens was never so comfortable before.
The components are based on a modular system and existing Leica microscopes can be updated with this system easily.
