The Lighthouse Reactivity Monitor's copper and silver-plated quartz crystal microbalance sensors measure the mass accumulation of corrosion films formed from the reaction between contaminants and the sensors.
This highly sensitive method of measurement indicates the reactivity level of an environment with contaminant levels at or less than one part per billion.
