Imaging for faster radio-synthesis purity checks
AR 2000 imaging scanner from LabLogic Systems gives radio-synthesis laboratories a fast and accurate means of measuring the purity of their product in real time without the need for a full HPLC system
The systems are already in use at AstraZeneca's other UK R and D centre, at Charnwood in Leicestershire, and Alderley Park expects similar benefits from standardising treatment and dose calculations.
Astra Zeneca business project manager Dave Sweetmore said: "Previously we used an off-the-shelf configurable Lims, which took many years of configuration in order for it to be able to perform Adme studies.
"With Debra we have an off-the-shelf product and everyone is using the same validated calculation methods, so as soon as the last sample is captured it is possible to produce a complete set of result data.

AstraZeneca is a major international healthcare business engaged in the research, development, manufacture and marketing of prescription pharmaceuticals and the supply of healthcare services.
It is one of the top five pharmaceutical companies in the world with healthcare sales of over $17.8 billion and leading positions in sales of gastrointestinal, oncology, anesthesia (including pain management), cardiovascular, central nervous system (CNS) and respiratory products.
Lablogic says its Debra and Laura are recognised by many leading pharmaceutical and agrochemical companies and contract research organisations as 'industry standard' for radio-labelled drug metabolism studies.
Debra has been developed for over 15 years in collaboration with LabLogic's clients to handle the growing complexity of modern protocols for the full range of Adme studies.
It completely eliminates errors in data transcription and calculation by managing the preparation and confirmation of dosing solutions, and all the steps in animal dosing and sample collection.
Laura 3, the latest version of LabLogic's comprehensive package for chromatography data collection and analysis, accommodates the latest networks platforms.
It offers researchers the facility to create and edit methods, set up sample runs and view data collection in real time across the network without being confined to the bench-top PC. Request a free brochure from Lablogic Systems ...
