LabLogic user group celebrates quarter century
UK-based nucleonic instrumentation and scientific software specialist LabLogic Systems this month celebrates the 25th anniversary of its first user group meeting
The inaugural session, held in Germany in 1983, set a pattern that continues to today; bringing metabolism scientists and radio-chemists together every year to exchange experiences of using the company's software and instrumentation and discuss with the LabLogic team how the products can be developed to meet their changing needs.
In recent times meetings have been held on both sides of the Atlantic (this year's is in San Diego on 9-10 October).
The attendance reflects LabLogic's increasingly international customer base, which is focused on pharmaceutical, agrochemical and contract research organisations, hospitals and universities in North America, the United Kingdom and Europe but now extends as far as Japan.
Commenting on the anniversary, founder and present-day chairman John Clapham said: "Many people and companies have come and gone since then, but several individuals who were at that first meeting are still among our customers - and our policy of user-driven product development remains unchanged, of course.
