Spectrometers designed for microscopes
Range of spectrographs directly couples between a microscope exit port and a CCD camera, simplifying and optimising the set up for many micro-spectroscopy applications
Lambda Photometrics announces the availability in the UK of the MicroSpec product line produced by Acton Research This new range of spectrographs directly couples between a microscope exit port and a CCD camera, simplifying and optimising the set up for single cell, dispersive fluorescence, micro-Raman, Fret and many other micro-spectroscopy applications

Characteristics are ideal for applications in DNA sequencing, flow cytometry, digital imaging, analytical chemistry and fast flow-rate particle measurement
The designs are proven with most Olympus and Nikon microscopes, and other microscope makes and models can be accommodated.
Three models are available with focal lengths of 150mm, 300mm or 500mm.
The optical aperture is user interchangeable, changing the factory optimised f-number to f/4 for the 150mm and 300mm versions and to f/6.5 for the 500mm focal length version.
This enables the system to be used away from the microscope with maximum throughput for other applications.
The MicroSpec entrance slit offers two positions, imaging and spectroscopy with a 12mm x 12mm aperture in the imaging mode, and a 14mm high slit with a continuously adjustable width from 10um to 3mm in the spectroscopy mode.
Motorised slit width adjustment is optionally available.
Multiple grating turrets are standard (dual for the 150mm version, and triple for the 300 and 500mm versions), and a plane mirror can be installed in one of the grating positions for direct imaging.
This new MicroSpec product line is an enhancement of Acton Research's industry proven SpectraPromonochromators and imaging spectrographs, and is provided with a wide range of software which is communicated via USB or RS232.
It is directly compatible with state-of-the-art CCDs and most imaging software. Request a free brochure from Lambda Photometrics ...
