New research grade spectrometer

Designed to eliminate the need for an optical table (something that is usually a requirement for a spectrometer of this grade), allowing it to be sited in a general laboratory environment

At Pittcon 2003, Malvern Instruments introduced the CGS-3, a new compact research-grade multi-angle spectrometer for the measurement of a range of light scattering parameters These include molecular weight, diffusion coefficients, virial coefficients and particle size

The CGS-3 uses technology developed by ALV, with which Malvern Instruments has a strategic alliance.

The system allows the simultaneous measurement of static and dynamic light scattering parameters.

This enables the analysis of data by both static and dynamic light scattering algorithms.

Without this facility, reanalysis would require repeat measurements.

The Malvern CGS-3 has been designed to eliminate the need for an optical table (something that is usually a requirement for a spectrometer of this grade), allowing it to be sited in a general laboratory environment.

Although intended for use in research laboratories, and often for highly demanding applications, every aspect of the system has been developed to ensure optimal performance with minimal operator training.

The CGS-3 also requires only the minimum of maintenance and is able to use inexpensive cuvettes for the majority of applications, rather than the much more expensive light scattering cuvettes usually required. Request a free brochure from Malvern Instruments ...
