Powtech 2004 preview: Malvern Instruments
Latest particle characterisation and rheology systems, and the first European show at which Malvern will exhibit the Bohlin range of products for rheology testing
At Powtech 2004 (Nurnberg, Germany 16-18 March 2004) Malvern Instruments will exhibit the latest introductions from the its range of particle characterisation systems for on-line and laboratory-based applications.
Powtech will also be the first European show at which Malvern will exhibit the Bohlin range of products for rheology testing, following Malvern's acquisition of Bohlin Instruments in October 2003.
For in-process particle sizing, Insitec on-line particle size analysers will be on display.
The most recent addition to this range is the award winning mobile Insitec Voyager which can be used for on-line or at-line applications.
This compact and complete system can be attached to fixed sampling ports at a variety of points in a production line or used to sample from different production lines within the same manufacturing plant.
Voyager is suitable for use even in highly regulated environments, such as the pharmaceutical industry.
It meets current Gamp requirements with a simple-to-clean measurement cell and flow path.
The system features triclamping and the use of 316 stainless steel parts for easy cleaning.
Software enables full compliance with FDA's 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
The pioneering new Zetasizer Nano series meets the challenge of measuring nano-sized particles.
This compact system combines the best technologies for the measurement of particle size, zeta potential and molecular weight of molecules and nano-sized particles - all achieved with no compromise on performance for any parameter.
The system measures particle size from 0.6nm to 6um of a wide range of high concentration samples (such as pharmaceutical suspensions and emulsions) without dilution.
It has fully validated software featuring 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
The use of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to control the measurement process ensures optimum performance and excellent repeatability between operators.
Vision systems for fully automated particle shape and size analysis will also be shown.
Malvern Instruments's PharmaVision 830 enables reliable, repeatable and routine characterisation of particle size and particle shape.
Based on standard microscopy and automated image analysis techniques, it is a solution, which provides a new level of insight into pharmaceutical powder manufacturing processes, ultimately leading to increased efficiency and reduced costs.
Malvern Instruments is on stand 9-304 at Powtech 2004.
