Malvern opens direct sales office in China
Includes the establishment of five new offices located in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Xi'an, with a team of 18 to deliver sales, service and applications support
Malvern Instruments, a supplier of particle characterisation and rheology systems, has opened a direct sales operation in China.
This paves the way for expansion of the company's materials characterisation business and the provision of enhanced support to its customers in this area.
The new operation includes the establishment of five new offices located in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Xi'an.
An expanded team of 18 people will deliver extensive sales, service and applications support locally and in local languages.
This new facility provides a platform from which Malvern will continue to develop its business in China.
Paul Walker, managing director of Malvern Instruments, commented: "The strategic decision to expand Malvern's base of operations in China underscores our long term commitment to providing excellent service and support to both current and future customers in the region.
"This concentration of resources close to our customers will put us in an ideal position to develop a full understanding of their most pressing business challenges.
"It will enable us to more quickly respond to our customers' requirements with solutions to solve individual applications needs".
As part of the development of the new business, Malvern has appointed Dr Ren Xu, a specialist in the field of particle technology, to the post of applications and technical support manager for the Asian region.
Dr Xu joins the Malvern team from Beckman Coulter's particle characterisation business, where he led the product development and applications functions.
He is an author of numerous publications and patents and a serving member of ISO and ASTM standards committees.
