FDA-compliant capsule and tablet
processing
Sample processors not only save time, but control operating sequences and improve reproducibility and accuracy so the risk of operator errors is reduced to a minimum
Metrohm says its range of sample processors and sample changers has been designed so that every user can find a suitable model The new sampler processor generation includes sample preparation, sample handling and liquid handling to a degree which previously was only possible with laboratory robots

Sophisticated sensor technology guarantees the highest possible degree of operational safety.
Identical sample preparation and handling increases the reproducibility as does optimal rinsing.
Basic operations of modern automation such as pipetting, transferring, aliquoting, and dosing have become child's play thanks to the new types of sample processors, says Metrohm.
Homogenisation and dispersion of the samples can be fully controlled.
The homogeniser speed can be altered, held, or pulsed when ever required.
Reproducibility and accuracy are the 'alpha and omega' in analysis and therefore one of the main demands placed on automation.
The sample processor family ensures constant dosing, exact pipetting, complete transferring and perfect repeatability when dosing in the range comfortably from 10 microliters up to 100 milliliters, ie, over four orders of magnitude.
Using this technology Metrohm has developed a system to perform capsule and tablet processing.
Applications for this system include tablet assay, capsule assay, drug assay, content conformity, other impurities, stability analysis, and quality assurance.
Instead of being fitted with the conventional RS 232C interface, they are equipped with universal serial bus (USB).
The USB is characterised by its stable and rapid communication.
The USB ports of the sample processor bring automation to the Titrando family.
In this case the advantages of the Titrando are combined with the possibilities which automation provides.
Operation takes place from a PC using Tiamo software, providing a top-class compact system with an extremely small footprint, but with the capability to have up to 999 samples on the rack.
Demands such as those made by GMP or FDA 21 CFR Part 11 - to mention only the electronic signature and electronic data storage - are taken into account by the Tiamo software.
All FDA regulations are complied with by the complete integration of the USB sample processor into the Tiamo software.
This means that automation is fully FDA compliant, says Metrohm. Request a free brochure from Metrohm UK ...
