First intelligent column for ion
chromatography
The iColumn forms part of intelligent ion chromatography when used in conjunction with the 850 Professional IC from Metrohm.
The many advantages of iColumns include the following GLP and monitoring data is stored on the column chip so can be transferred from one professional system to another (for example total number of injections) with no gaps in traceability of column life

Intelligent iColumn technology recognises the type of Metrohm Metrosep column installed and knows the optimal eluent and flow rate, prevents inadvertent pressure shocks which help extend the lifetime of the separation column and reduce running costs.

Technical data as well as standard conditions are also stored on the chip.
Using the MagIC Net software it is possible to define limits, such as the maximum number of working hours, determinations performed or time interval until the next GLP test validation, then the analytical user receives a notification message and/or the determination is stopped (dependant on the action predefined).
