Simultaneous analysis of anions and
cations
The Metrohm Professional IC (ProfIC) 13 system for the fully automatic determination of anions and cations that can be determined together in parallel or independently of each other to save time
ProfIC systems from Metrohm are said to be the first professional IC system with intelligent system components, using newly developed hardware that utilises over twenty years of innovative solutions and represents the third generation of Metrohm IC The configuration is highly flexible and although normal use is anions (with chemical suppression) and cations (non-suppressed) this can easily be changed to anions with and without chemical suppression for example for analysis of standard anions and silicate (that can not be detected using chemical suppression)

Determination of lactic acid in milk and associated dairy products is an extremely common laboratory application and has key product quality control use in a modern dairy
Normally dual chemistry IC instruments occupy at least one metre of footprint on the bench, but not only is the Metrohm ProfIC system intelligent but it occupies only 64cm of space on the bench.
The sample is transferred to the injection valve automatically using the 858 Professional Sample Processor all controlled using the most intuitive chromatography controlling available today in Magic Net.
Of course should the sample not be clinically pure then Metrohm can automate the sample pre-treatment with for example ultra-filtration or dialysis to protect the separation column (the unique iColumn), maintain low running costs and facilitate a higher sample thoughput.
All system parameters are monitored and optimised through the Magic Net software with its smart control.
Control cards for calibration and samples can be freely defined and should an important parameter leave a predefined tolerance than the laboratory user is informed.
The results are safely stored in a database that fully complies with the analytical requirements of the FDA. Request a free brochure from Metrohm UK ...
