Chlorine analysis in aqueous samples
Two new additions to the Alert range from Applikon Analytical are the Alert Colorimeter for total chlorine and the Alert Colorimeter for free chlorine
In common with the current range both analysers are designed for reliability and minimal operator attendance Conforming to ISO 7393/2 - 1985 Water Quality - Determination of Free and Total Chlorine, both analysers use a buffer and DPD solution and perform the analysis either at ten minute intervals or at lower frequency where required

PC controlled sample changer
The DH sample changer 748 from Metrohm is said to be the solution for quality control and process monitoring in many sectors
Using both analysers can allow a determination of combined chlorine (chloramines and organic chloramines) to be carried out.
Both analysers use the unique differential absorbance colorimetry (DAC) methodology to prevent background sample colour and solids adversely affecting the analysis.
Both analyses have a working range of 0-2.5mg/l with a limit of detection at two parts per billion.
The running costs are kept to a minimum by low reagent use, typically less than 0.5ml per analysis for each reagent, and minimal consumables.
Attendance for planned maintenance is usually carried out on an annual basis. Request a free brochure from Metrohm UK ...
