Ion analyser detects sodium in high purity water

A Metrohm (UK) product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Mar 9, 2009

Applikon Analytical and Metrohm UK have developed the Alert ion analyser for sodium analysis in high purity water and power utility.

The Alert ion analyser for sodium features a sodium ion selective polymer electrode from Metrohm for buffer-free operation and high sensitivity at low concentrations.

The analyser only requires a sodium standard solution, which is used for automatic calibration and the Dynamic Standard Addition (DSA) methodology to remove interferences and validate each and every result as correct.

The Alert ion analyser is delivered for analysis of sodium in the range three - 10ug/l, but can be modified by changing the concentration of the sodium standard.

Consumption of standard is approximately 1ml per analysis.

The Alert ion analyser for sodium is available in single or dual-stream versions as standard and can be further enhanced with the ADI Multistream Unit to add up to six sample streams.

Additional hardware such as sample conditioning is available for a complete package from the take-off point.
