State-of-the-art fully automated solvent nanofiltration pilot plant can also be used for aqueous processes and is skid-mounted for use at company sites

Following on from its success in pioneering the development of organic solvent nanofiltration processes for the fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals industry, Membrane Extraction Technology unveils its new, state-of-the-art solvent nanofiltration pilot plant Designed specifically for use with organic solvents, but suitable for any process compatible with stainless steel, the plant offers fast, efficient and safe operation

It is fully automated, and features a flameproof pump capable of generating pressures up to 60bar, a sealed one-vent tank with 100l capacity, and stainless steel housing that can be adapted for use with any standard module type.

The incorporation of intrinsically safe instrumentation and a heat exchanger means that it can be operated at temperatures in the range of 20-60C.

Depending on the application, process flow can be up to 1200l/hr.

Typical organic solvent nanofiltration applications include solvent exchanges, product purification, catalyst recovery and reuse and monomer/polymer separation.

As well as these solvent nanofiltration applications, for which the pilot plant is uniquely suited to, it can also be used for aqueous processes such as aqueous filtration in the micro to nano range, and reverse osmosis.

The plant is suitable for use in hazardous areas, and is skid-mounted which makes it fully portable and thus available for use both at the MET facilities in London and on customers' sites.

Membrane Extraction Technology is making the pilot plant available for hire, and has on hand a team of PhD-qualified chemical engineers who can work with customers as required to develop and enhance their process.
