Microscopy relief contrast system
New contrast technique provides better observation of cell shape and cell content - useful for injection applications such as IVF, removal of nuclei, and other transgenic work
A new technique developed by Olympus called Relief Contrast (RC) gives an adjustable three dimensional highlighting of relief features This simplifies the functional positioning of living cells before electrodes, micro-injectors and micromanipulators are put in place - particularly valuable for ICSI, other IVF techniques, and transgenic work

The Olympus Relief Contrast system is offered with a new universal IX2-MLWCD condenser that combines high NA 0.5 with high working distance of 45mm.
It can cast a shadow in any direction with Koehler illumination.
The new 10x, 20x, and 40x objectives designed for this observation are parfocal and offered in two price classes: LC Achromat and LCPL Fluorite.
Each of the different objectives has the same illumination angle, thus the 3D images do not change even when the magnification is altered - greatly simplifying cell manipulation.
The IX2 range of inverted microscopes is designed around a highly stable optical bench, with a wide open stage space fully accessible from front and sides.
It provides high performance optics and multiple port flexibility for system development in bioresearch applications.
New imaging adapters - fully compatible with the successful BX2-range - allow documentation with video and digital cameras.
Temperature control devices include stage and objective temperature controls as well as complex incubators with additional CO2 enrichment or pH control. Request a free brochure from Olympus Life Science Europa ...
