The new system is specified for use in schools or clinics, with safety and security features to match.

Eyepieces, objectives and condenser are all factory attached to the microscope body so that they can not become detached or lost.

The wire driven stage means there is no protruding rack - reducing the risk of accidental hand injuries.

A focus lock simplifies refocusing when the specimen is changed.

By locking the upper stage position, it also means that there is no danger of the objective touching the slide, thus protecting both specimen and objective.

The quadruple revolving nosepiece holds 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x UIS objectives for brightfield magnification.

The binocular observation tube is at 30o inclination to encourage comfortable viewing.

Controls for stage, focusing and light adjustment are close together and low on the microscope so that forearms can be rested on the benchtop or desk.

The CX21 is compact and portable, being just 391mm high and weighing 5.9kg.
