Olympus unveils SC30 colour camera
Olympus has introduced the SC30 colour camera for high-quality microscopy imaging.
With superior resolution and quality, outstanding colour reproduction is ensured, according to the company.
Suitable for use in material and life-science applications, the camera is designed to capture fast frame rates and has a good cost-to-performance ratio.
This makes it a suitable introductory model for any applications requiring digital image acquisition.
With a native resolution of 2,048 pixels x 1,532 pixels and multiple binning modes (2x, 3x and 4x), the SC30 is said to be able to achieve high levels of sensitivity and fast frame rates during live cell imaging.
Using the 4x binning mode, 49 frames per second can be captured at a resolution of 508 pixels x 384 pixels.
Exposure times can be set from 57us to 1.75s, enabling the user to be in complete control of the image acquisition process.
Using a 3.3-megapixel CMOS chip, the SC30 camera is suitable for use in standard bright-field applications, as well as for simple digital documentation purposes.
Once obtained, data is transferrable via a single, high-speed USB 2.0 cable.
In combination with the Olympus cell and analysis software packages, the user is able to ensure seamless and precise coordination of the microscope, camera and any peripheral devices, according to the company.
The camera is compatible with Windows XP and Vista.
