Conductive rack enhances liquid level detection

A Micronic product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Jun 21, 2006

Micronic, a specialist in traceable sample storage solutions, has announced new conductive versions of its automation-compatible Robo Rack and Lobo Rack tube racks

As the number of samples to be stored has grown so the need for automation compatible storage solutions has become increasingly important.

Manufactured from chemically resistant polypropylene, with a high carbon content, the new conductive 0.65ml Lobo and 1.4ml Robo Racks provide a uniquely stable tube storage platform for automated liquid level detection applications.

The new conductive racks minimise electrostatic charge build-up during automated handling in dry environments such as clean rooms and low temperature storage facilities.

Potential sample contamination from attracted dust is therefore eliminated.

The Micronic storage rack range, developed in conjunction with several leading automation companies, is based upon the globally recognised Society of Biomolecular Screening (SBS) standard footprint.

Accommodating 96 individual tubes in the industry standard configuration Micronic racks are fully compatible with all commercial automated sample handling and storage systems enabling significant gains in productivity to be routinely achieved.

Manufactured under class 7 (clean room 10,000) conditions Micronic racks are robust and absolutely consistent rack-to-rack - essential prerequisites for trouble-free automation.

Micronic racks are available sterile, RNase/DNase free and with custom specific barcodes to enable automated tracking.

Dedicated to the design and production of innovative sample storage tubes, accessories and instruments over the last 25 years, Micronic says it is uniquely able to offer laboratories the expert advice to help them safeguard one of its most valuable assets - its samples.
