Complete moisture management in single
system

Michell Instruments has launched the Moisture Manager, a multi-channel gas measurement system designed to provide operators with a comprehensive picture of the status of a wide range of process gases.

Michell Instruments has launched the Moisture Manager, a flexible, multi-channel gas measurement system, which has been designed to provide operators with a comprehensive picture of the status of a wide range of process gases The Moisture Manager can display and log up to 24 channels of data via 4-20mA inputs, measuring eight dewpoint, eight temperature and eight user-selected process parameters, such as pressure, flow rate or oxygen concentration

Suitable for use even in hazardous area applications, the Moisture Manager helps operators to optimise process efficiency by integrating multiple process inputs into higher level control systems.

For example, the system can use Michell's Transmet dewpoint transmitter for field measurements of gas humidity and temperature to a measurement accuracy of ñ1øC, over a measurement range of -100oC to 20oC dewpoint.

Up to eight dewpoint transmitters can be connected in series using a single RS485 power and signal cable of up to 1200 metres long.

The Moisture Manager features an on-screen display, which provides alarm and output settings, trend analysis and data logging, through a 5" colour LCD touch screen monitor.

The touch screen greatly simplifies the operation of the Moisture Manager, for example, a unique on-screen Quick Start guide helps the user configure 4-20mA process inputs, outputs and alarms quickly and easily, assigning ranges, engineering units and alarm trip levels at the touch of the colour screen.

Operator control can also be configured to give virtual instrument displays, either by process location or measurement parameter.

To further assist process control, Moisture Manager has a comprehensive alarm system with up to eight relay alarms.

Each alarm can be set to indicate a fixed point, high or low, NO/NC or latching and can be assigned to any of the instrument's 24 input channels.

A global alarm feature can provide a single alarm if any of a group of chosen channels exceeds set limits.

The Moisture Manager also incorporates a data logger, which can store up to 7,000 measurement points in its 50kB memory.

Recorded data can be displayed on the virtual Chart Recorder, viewed onscreen as scrolling text, or downloaded using the RS232 output.

Input data can then be used to calculate a range of process variables, including percentage relative humidity, grams per cubic metre or kilogram, ppm, water vapour pressure, ppm by weight and pressure dewpoint. Request a free brochure from Michell Instruments ...
