A five megapixel digital camera package that fits most microscopes is now available from Microscopes Plus The outfit utilises the Canon Sureshot with 5megapixel resolution and swivelling screen
Measuring software, a purpose built adapter that fits into a standard eyepiece tube (23.3mm) and a sleeve to allowing use with a stereomicroscope (30mm) eyepiece tube are all included.
Images are captured to a removable storage card (CF) and can then transferred to a PC for image manipulation, to form a database or for emailing.
The swivel screen of the Canon allows the image to be viewed very clearly no matter what scope is employed.
Additionally the camera can be used separately in normal or macro mode to photograph specimens that do not fit under a microscope, and for those all-important holiday pictures.
