New ReNcell data from collaboration with
reneuron
The ReNcell neural stem cell lines are immortalised human neural progenitor cells that have the ability to readily differentiate into neural cell types and will replicate indefinitely
Millipore has released new data concerning its ReNcell neural stem cell lines The research was conducted by the Department of Physiology at University College London and ReNeuron, whose ReNcell distribution agreement with Millipore was announced in 2006

First immortalised human neural progenitor cells
Millipore has announced the launch of the ReNcell product line, said to be the only human immortalised neural somatic stem cell lines on the market today
The data will be presented by Vi Chu, research and development scientist for Millipore's bioprocess division, in a technology talk at the ISSCR meeting in Cairns, Australia on June 20, 2007.
The data conclude that the ReNcell lines, ReNcell VM and ReNcell CX, will continuously expand in monolayer culture.
Both cell lines have the ability to differentiate into neurons, astrocytes and oligodendrocytes, and the researchers were able to differentiation the ReNcell VM line into electrophysiologically active dopaminergic neurons.
The study was published in the May edition of BMC Neuroscience and may be read in its entirety online.
ReNcell immortalised cells display the same marker patterns as normal cells and are able to grow and remain stable after culturing.
These cells are important tools for the discovery of new therapies targeting diseases of the central nervous system. Request a free brochure from Millipore ...
